Yellowstone National Park

We hear from a lot of people that want to combine a visit to Yellowstone National park with a Wyoming dude ranch vacation. Since the most convenient airport to the Lazy L&B is Jackson Hole and we’re located only 1.5 hours from the south entrance to Yellowstone we’re in a good position to make this happen. When possible we always encourage guests to visit the park before heading to us. Two million people visit Yellowstone each summer – it’s a busy place! It’s kind of nice to end...

Jackalope

Today I noticed that the #2 attraction in Dubois, according to TripAdvisor, is the Giant Jackalope.  If you’re driving to the ranch from Jackson you’ll be lucky enough to pass right by it giving you the chance to snap some photos of you and your loved ones riding the jackalope. Wall of Elk

Driving the girls to meet the school bus in the morning is an adventure in itself as it takes about 20 minutes to get from the ranch to the end of East Fork Road. The good news is that there’s no traffic, well, no vehicular traffic. A couple of days ago we were heading down the road when we saw a wall of black up ahead. It was still a bit dark out so it was hard to see what it was exactly. As we approached we realized it was elk. Tons of elk! I would say at least 125 elk. It was an awesome sight but unfortunately...

Welcome to Wyoming!

If you plan to drive from outside of Wyoming to come and visit us, chances are a sign like this will greet you. Whenever I’m on my way back from elsewhere I’m always happy to be welcomed back to Wyoming. There’s just something about this state: the air seems fresher, the mountains more majestic, the spaces wider and more open and the people are some of the friendliest around. Not to mention the great Wyoming dude ranch in the...
